Jesse Davis

Adolescent Health Specialist
Catwoman

Jesse Davis believes that growth begins where excuses end. As an Adolescent Health Specialist, he brings a dynamic blend of compassion, authenticity, and real-world experience to every classroom and conversation. Originally from Flint, Michigan, Jesse relocated to Detroit in search of new opportunities and found his calling at Teen HYPE, where what started as a chance opportunity quickly became a place that felt meant to be.

Before joining Teen HYPE, Jesse built an extensive background in youth programming, working with schools, LGBTQ+ communities, and health education initiatives focused on STI and HIV prevention. His work with young people has always been rooted in connection, understanding, and empowerment. Whether he’s facilitating discussions about relationships or helping students challenge what they’ve learned from peers and social media, Jesse creates space for honest conversations that encourage growth and self-discovery.

Like his superhero counterpart Catwoman, Jesse understands that growth often requires embracing complexity. Catwoman’s journey is one of self-discovery, navigating difficult choices, and challenging expectations, qualities Jesse brings into his work every day. He isn’t afraid to ask tough questions, challenge harmful thinking, or engage in conversations others might avoid. He believes that while not everyone will agree with you, people can still appreciate the value and perspective you bring to the table.

Inspired by Vernon Brundage Jr.’s words, “Excuses are tools of incompetence used to build bridges to nowhere and monuments of nothingness,” Jesse encourages young people to be intentional with their lives. He teaches them to set goals, establish boundaries, write down their dreams, and revisit them often. His message is simple but powerful: success begins with believing in yourself, planning with purpose, and taking ownership of your journey.
