The adverse childhood experiences faced by Detroit’s youth can have harmful effects on their ability to learn, thrive and dream. Through the explicit confessions of teens, we will journey through these experiences and the inequities that drive them. The art forms of dance, music, poetry and acting will evoke our collective pain, shame, laughter, hope and love.

We call upon the power of art to amplify the voices of a community in great peril and promise. As in the Harlem Renaissance and the Black Arts Movements, our community theatrical production calls out the injustices of oppressive systems and hopes of catalyzing communal healing.

Stand in support of our young people’s debut in social justice as they try on new roles as poets, directors, actors, marketers and social architects. Celebrate their resolve to construct a movement for teens by teens to change Detroit’s landscape.
