Amy Peterson

Steady, strategic, and deeply committed, Amy is a “protector” behind the scenes who keeps Teen HYPE strong. With a career rooted in the public sector and a strong background in finance, she joined Teen HYPE full-time after years of partnership, bringing both passion and precision to her role as Finance Manager. 

Her journey with Teen HYPE began in 2009 as a board member and grant writer, and what started as a connection quickly turned into a mission. She knew her skills could support the organization’s impact from the inside out and leaped to join the staff in 2024 to serve full-time.

Although her work isn’t directly with youth, she proudly holds down the foundation, ensuring resources are managed, programs are funded, and the vision remains sustainable. From grant writing to fiscal strategy, she sees her role as essential to protecting the work and the people behind it. 

Her superhero is Shield. Originally written as male and later reimagined as a powerful woman who is known as the protector. As someone who naturally shields and supports others, Amy views her role in finance as one of safeguarding the organization’s future and keeping things aligned and moving forward. 

Amy lives by the quote: “Be the change you want to see in the world.” She’s honored to be part of Teen HYPE, a movement that’s creating real change, and proud to support it with purpose every step of the way.
