When you join PE, you are joining a family of caring adults and teenagers just like you.

Being a Peer Educator is about working together to make Detroit and the world better. Teen HYPE is a safe space where all young people are welcomed and respected. As a PE, you will have an opportunity to express yourself through your creativity, become a certified adolescent health peer educator, meet other teens, learn about interesting topics, go on field trips, and participate in community service projects all while having fun. It does not matter if you are shy or outgoing, there is a place for you at Teen HYPE.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 13 years old
  • Interested in the performing arts and community service/volunteering
  • 1-year commitment
  • Year-round attendance at weekly meetings (Thursdays after school until 8:30 pm)
  • Access to reliable transportation (unfortunately we are not able to provide rides to and from programming)

If you would like to become a Peer Educator, please complete this form or call 313.831.8336. We will review your application and schedule you for one-on-one and group interviews. An interview does not guarantee you admission into the PE program, and after your interview, you will be notified about your acceptance.
